About Us
Alturas Capital Partners is a real estate investment company. Our company is built on partnerships with tenants, brokers and investors and we work every day to create value for these partners. Building on its team’s prior experience Alturas Capital Partners started investing in commercial real estate in 2012 with an emphasis on cash flow, value creation, and identifying opportunity. Today we own over 3.5 million square feet in five western states and we are continually looking for new opportunities to grow and uncover additional ways we can create win-win outcomes with our partners.

Travis Barney
Travis Barney is a senior real estate investment professional with 15 years of experience in asset management, acquisitions, dispositions, underwriting and valuation, leasing, and due diligence. As President of Alturas Capital Partners, Travis is responsible for overseeing the company’s objectives in collaboration with the company’s team and partners.
His investment philosophy is rooted in risk management, value creation, and durable cash flow. These objectives are met through partnerships and collaborations that are structured for long-term success and create enduring win-win outcomes.
He holds a BS in Finance with a real estate emphasis from the Marriott School of Management at Brigham Young University.
Travis and his wife Brittney live in Boise, Idaho with their sons Grayson, Brock and Caleb. He enjoys spending his free time with his family in the Idaho outdoors.

Chief Investment Officer and Co-founder
Blake Hansen
Blake Hansen formed Alturas Capital in 2007. He has been investing in real estate since 2003, and has more than 20 years of investment experience. He has a passion for business and investing, especially creating a diversified portfolio of cash generating assets.
As Principal, Blake oversees the investment strategies of the firm. He leads Alturas’ team of investment professionals, and co-chairs the investment committee of the firm.
Since 2011, Blake has been on the board of AlertSense, a growing software as a service company based in Boise. He co-chairs efforts through the Idaho Technology Council relating to access to capital, and oversees the creation of an annual Idaho Deal Flow Report. He is on the Boise State Alumni Association Board and actively invests in local companies.
Blake studied business at Brigham Young University, and graduated from Boise State University with a degree in accountancy. Prior to forming Alturas, Blake managed a personal portfolio of real estate assets, and spent time as an auditor at a national public accounting firm.
Blake and his wife Kimberly, live in Meridian, Idaho with their five children, Allie, Sophie, William, Henry and Kate. He enjoys backpacking, fly-fishing, alpine skiing and spending time with his family, especially in the outdoors.

Chief Operating Officer
Devin Morris
Devin is a senior commercial real estate investment professional with more than ten years experience in commercial real estate lending and finance, asset management, underwriting, valuation, and due diligence. As Director of Acquisitions and Asset Management at Alturas, Devin is responsible for overseeing the company’s real estate portfolio and acquiring assets that enhance the value of the Fund.
Before Alturas, Devin served as a Vice President of the Zions Bank Real Estate Banking Group in Boise, Idaho where he managed a loan portfolio of $60 million comprised of construction and term loans to various product types including multifamily, office, retail and industrial. Prior to Zions Bank, he was an Assistant Vice President for Wells Fargo Middle Market Real Estate in Richmond, VA where he managed a loan portfolio of $75 million. As a result of an aggressive downtown revitalization plan in Richmond, Devin developed particular expertise on construction/renovation loans for historic properties including those utilizing historic tax credits.
He holds a BS in Business Management with an emphasis in finance from the Marriott School of Business at Brigham Young University as well as a Master of Real Estate Development from Clemson University.
Devin and his wife live in Hidden Springs, Idaho with their three children. He is a faithful BYU and Clemson alum who also enjoys travel, the outdoors, and following the English Premier League.

Ben Johnson
Prior to joining Alturas, Ben spent 10 years at Deloitte, the largest professional services network in the world. During his time with Deloitte, Ben served out of the New York, San Francisco, and Boise offices in Deloitte's audit, mergers and acquisitions, and accounting advisory practices. Ben has served both public and private clients in many industries including asset management, retail, engineering, manufacturing, media, power and utilities, agribusiness, and healthcare. Ben served as a local and national leader in Deloitte's Boise office, western region of the United States, and power and utilities industry.
Ben holds a bachelor's degree in accounting from Brigham Young University - Idaho, is a Certified Public Accountant (Connecticut and Idaho) and a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

Bailey Breish
Bailey Breish joined Alturas Capital Partners in October 2019. As the Controller at Alturas Capital Bailey is responsible for overseeing financial and accounting activities. Bailey is responsible for budgeting and forecasting, financial reporting and analysis, accounting, and cash flow and risk management for the Alturas Real Estate Fund, Alturas Capital Partners, Alturas Property Services and Alturas. Bailey also assists with investor relations.
Prior to joining Alturas, Bailey was an auditor for four and a half years at Deloitte, the largest professional services network in the world. During her time at Deloitte she performed audits for both public and private companies throughout Idaho. Bailey served many industries including manufacturing, engineering, healthcare and power and utilities. Bailey holds a Bachelors in Accounting and a Master's of Accountancy from the University of Idaho. She is also a Certified Public Accountant in Idaho.
Bailey lives in Boise, ID. Outside of work she enjoys spending timing with family and friends waterskiing, camping and snowmobiling in Idaho's backcountry.

Rachael Martin
Growing up in Missouri, Rachael moved to Idaho as a teen, then to San Diego for a short time before making Boise her home. Early on in her career, Rachael's experience in financial services lead her into the world of financing where she processed vehicle and home loans, as well as financial planning for nearly 8 years.
After working in the financial industry, Rachael, looking for a new a challenge, took on Legal Services. As a Paralegal, Rachael's focus was family law, bankruptcy and estate planning. In 2015, after 7 years as a Paralegal, she took her estate planning skills and began her education in property management.
While working for a local Property Management and Real Estate Firm, Rachael gained real estate experience, knowledge and skills in Commercial Property Management while developing and maintaining professional relationships and providing customer service.
Rachael comes to Alturas Capital Partners as our Commercial Property Manager where she protects and enhances the value of Alturas' commercial real estate investments by working closely with tenants on leasing, remedies of all property concerns, and maintaining professional relationships. She works closely with vendors and local contractors to maintain and improve the value of each investment. Rachael oversees income statements, expenditures, rent collection and budgets for each property.
In her free time, Rachael enjoys spending quality time with her close friends and family. She loves active outdoor activities, travel, music, exercising and volunteering. She runs a non-profit, S.E.E.C., which uses it's networks to find referrals, donations and relief for those in her community in need of assistance.

Accounting Manager
Maritza Huelsman
Maritza Huelsman is a Property Accountant for Alturas Capital. She performs tenant and client account analysis and reconciliations. She is also the primary contact for tenant-related questions about their leases and charges.
She joins the Alturas team with over 10 years of experience in accounting. Maritza moved to Idaho in 2014 from Nevada where she was an Accounts Payable Manager for nearly 7 years.
When not at work, she enjoys photography and spontaneous family adventures.

Dean Coombs joined Alturas Capital in 2017. As a Property Analyst at Alturas, Dean assists in underwriting, property level accounting, and asset management of the company’s portfolio.
In 2016, Dean graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Business Administration. His prior experience includes working in agribusiness at the J.R. Simplot Company and in residential construction with Alturas Homes.
Dean and his wife Krissy live in Star, Idaho with their son Jace. In his free time, Dean enjoys spending time with his family, playing basketball, and snowmobiling in Idaho's mountains.

Mia Rodriguez joined Alturas Capital in November 2018 as an Administrative Accounting Assistant, working closely with the Alturas Property Accountants and assisting in Accounts Payable. As a newcomer to the real estate investment industry, she is excited to learn from Alturas’ talented professionals and develop new skills to grow within the company.
Mia graduated from the University of Leeds, UK, with a B.A. in Hispanic and Latin American Studies, during which she spent some time residing in Spain and Portugal. She moved to the U.S. from England in 2013 and currently lives in Boise with her husband, Alex, and their son, Oliver. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling, reading, and making the most of family time.

Joshua Utke
Joshua is currently senior student at Boise State University pursuing a degree in Finance and recently joined Alturas Capital Partners as an Acquisitions and Asset Management Analyst. As an Asset Management Analyst, Joshua assists in underwriting, market research, and asset management of the company’s portfolio.
His prior experiences include working in the CPG industry as an Analyst for Albertsons Companies and Prosperity Organic Foods. He is also a member of the Financial Management Association and the Sigma Chi Fraternity, where he is Treasurer of his chapter.
In Joshua’s free time, he enjoys playing basketball, snowboarding, and participating in multiple fantasy football leagues.

Francie is Alturas’ Payroll and Benefits Specialist. With the Employee Experience team, she will be focused on administering and improving our benefits, helping employees on-board and accurate payroll processing. She has 15 years or experience working with small and large organizations such as Clearwater Analytics and Guidant Financial on benefits and payroll.
Francie grew up in Eagle and is a Boise State Alumni. She recently returned to Idaho last year after a 10 year hiatus in Seattle. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading a good book or watching her favorite NFL team.

Diana is a senior in college at BYU - Idaho studying Visual Communication. Diana is from South Jordan, Utah. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, being outside, snowboarding, hiking, and boating.

Brianna is a highly motivated individual who is passionate about property management and prides herself on delivering positive results to owners and tenants through her reliability and commitment to her portfolio.
Brianna grew up abroad in Asia and returned to the US, where she obtained her Bachelors from Wake Forest University, and Masters of Business from George Washington University. She moved to Colorado in 2017, after spending 7 years in the DC Metro Area. She enjoys spending time with her family, getting outside for a walk, or reading a good book.
