We are not playing a zero-sum game. Life and business are an infinite contest where the possibilities are endless and human ingenuity creates abundance. We share generously with our teammates and partners, because without them there would be nothing to share. The more success our teammates and partners have, the more success and opportunity it creates.

Our business, and successful lives in general, are built with partnerships. The more hardworking and talented people we have pulling in the same direction, the more success we will have. The better we take care of our partners by treating them with respect, compensating them generously, providing them with true value, and allowing them autonomy to do what they do best, the more productive we will all be. We win when our partners win.

Our efforts are targeted to the work that will make the most impact for our partners and our team. We think outside-of-the-box and put in extra effort to create this additional value. Most often these are small things. Being a little more creative in creating a win-win solution for a partner. Being a little more attentive and responsive to a problem. Going out of our way to create a connection to a person or resource that is helpful. These are a few simple examples among many other things.

We have a great responsibility to take care of our team members, clients, and partners. We are empowered to do the right thing in any circumstance. We value action: action that benefits our team and partners; action that aligns with our core values will always be valued, even if mistakes are made; effort and action with the right intent moves the company forward.

We do what we say we are going to do, when we say we are going to do it. We are dependable and steadfast. We have many commitments: commitments to our team members, our tenant partners, our broker partners, our lender partners, our investor partners, our vendor partners and ultimately to ourselves and our families. Our business will not survive without any of these partners, so it is critical that we live up to our commitments to each of them.

Every day is about gradual, continual improvement. Getting a little more efficient in our daily work, improving a process, adding a new skill, building on a relationship with a partner and so on. We must keep moving forward. Observing the world around us and consuming as much good information as possible is critical.
